Kenneth French


Carl E. and Catherine M. Heidt Professor of Finance at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Professor French has contributed extensively in the fields of asset pricing, financing decisions, and expected stock returns.  With several thousand citations to his credit, his seminal work with co-author Eugene F. Fama on risk and return in multi-factor models has impacted research in corporate finance, investments, and various other fields of finance.  He has been awarded the Fama/DFA Prize (second place), the Jensen Prize (second place), and the Smith-Breeden Prize for his outstanding research. His recent research examines asset pricing relating to international markets, capital structure, and mutual fund returns. In addition to publishing extensively, Professor French is a former president of the American Finance Association and has worked as an editor of the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. He also serves as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.  Prior to joining the faculty at Dartmouth, he served on the faculty of MIT’s Sloan School of Management, the Yale School of Management, and the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Professor French received a Ph.D., M.S., and MBA from the University of Rochester and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University.

Mark Grinblatt


J. Clayburn La Force Professor of Finance at UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Professor Grinblatt has published over 40 academic articles in the areas of factor pricing, mutual fund performance, investment strategies, performance evaluation, and derivative securities.  In addition to publishing in top journals, he has received the Smith-Breeden Distinguished Paper Prize for his work on the determinants of investor trading.   Professor Grinblatt’s accomplishments also include ranking in the top 5% of economic researchers and the top 1% of most cited faculty in Finance.  He has served as an advisory editor for the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Journal of Economics and Business.  In addition to serving on the faculties of UCLA, Yale, and The Wharton School, Professor Grinblatt has worked with the Federal Reserve, Salomon Brothers, and Glassman-Oliver Economic Consultants.  He received a Ph.D, M.Phil., and M.A., from Yale University, and an A.B. from the University of Michigan.

Toby Moskowitz


Fama Family Chaired Professor of Finance at University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Professor Moskowitz publishes work on risk in capital markets, expected returns, agency theory, information asymmetries, and asset pricing.  He has been awarded the Smith-Breeden Prize, the Brattle Prize, the Q-Group Best Paper Award, the Fischer Black Prize, and numerous other honors for research excellence.  His current research focuses on return anomalies, financial regulation, and the business cycle.  Professor Moskowitz has also served as a director on the boards of the American Finance Association, the Center for Research in Security Prices, the Western Finance Association, and Society of Financial Studies.  He received a B.S. and M.S. from Purdue University and a Ph.D. from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Sheridan Titman


Walter W. McAllister Centennial Chair in Financial Services at The University of Texas McCombs School of Business.
Professor Titman publishes extensively in the fields of asset pricing, mutual funds, and valuation.  He has received several awards for his research, including the Q-Group Prize (third place), the GSAM prize, and the Smith-Breeden Prize for best paper in the Journal of Finance.  In addition to his publications, Professor Titman has authored several books on corporate strategy.  Professor Titman has also served as a Research Associate for NBER.  He has positions as a board member for the American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association, the Financial Management Association, and the Asia Pacific Finance Association.  He has also served as an associate editor to the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Finance, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, among others.  Before joining the faculty at the University of Texas, Professor Titman held positions at Boston College, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of California at Los Angeles, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, and University of British Columbia.  Professor Titman holds a B.S. from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University.
